TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Expires After: Does not Expire

Course Overview

This qualification reflects the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

This qualification (or the skill sets derived from units of competency within it) is also suitable preparation for those engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of competence in a workplace context, as a component of a structured VET program.

Certification

Students who are deemed competent for this qualification will receive TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Entry requirements

The TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment provides individuals with the skills and knowledge to train and assess in the VET system, but it does not provide them with an area of expertise in which to train or assess. For this reason, the requirement for entry into the qualification is that:

Those entering this program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.

To complete their studies, students will need to have access to a workplace where they can complete their assessments under a supervisor. Distance education students will need to initiate contact with an approved Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to complete workplace-based experience and solidify practical experience and skills relevant to the qualification. This is so the student gains access to real learners, VET practitioners and learning environments.
