Certification Students who are deemed competent for this qualification will receive RII40420 Certificate IV in Underground Coal Operations. This is recognised as a qualifying course for sitting the statutory exams for mine deputy in both New South Wales and Queensland. The 14 units of competency in this course are nationally recognised. There are 10 core units plus 4 electives to do to be awarded this qualification. Course Duration Typically, the volume of learning is 0.5 to 2 years (600 to 2400 hours).
